This product is a rigid extruded polystyrene, thermoplastic in nature and with a closed cell structure.
The totally closed cell structure of CecatherPlus® provides excellent performance against water absorption and as a thermal insulator. The high rigidity of the cell structure given by the great homogeneity of the cells provides, in turn, a very high mechanical resistance capacity.
The thermal conductivity (parameter that indicates the ability to transmit heat of a material) of our insulation is 0.22 m2K/W (EN 12664 Standard). A material will be a better insulator the lower this coefficient is)
The closed cell structure of XPS CecatherPlus® allows it to be a product whose water absorption by total long-term immersion is less than 0.7%.
It also has a correct compressive strength of 150 KPa (EN 826:2013 Standard)
Another important concept is the reaction to fire, which indicates the contribution of the product in case of fire. Our XPS has category E Euroclass (EN 13501-1:2010 Standard) which means that, by incorporating fire retardants, it is fire resistant and self-extinguishing at all times.
